Default Attenuator L-Pad switch to simple resistor problem

Hi all,

I have decided to improve my old speaker quality by changing 40 dB 8 Ohm L-pad attenuator. Now the problem is what nominal resistor(s) and how to connect? Weird thing is that measuring resistance between 1-3 constant 0.2 Ohm, between 1-2 or 2-3 changes 0 to 3.4 and then to 0 Ohm again.

I am confused, any thoughts?

Thanks

Are you measuring the resistors? Are they IN the circuit, or have you pulled them out before measuring?
