I have only seen bamboo in flooring. It is beastly. As hard as nails, actually pretty damn close to pure aluminum in hardness. Hard to cut is just not a good explanation. Carbide tooling is a must. High quality hand tools that you like to sharpen often will work to. Sounds like all a big downer but it is really stiff. And for a loudspeaker box that is a big plus.
