A trnsmission line sub pipe?
Looks like it might resemble Nelson Pass's big pipes? |

Rabbitz has got it !
Yep, its a variant of "Conehead". Its going to end up as a 6ft tall tapered quaterwave pipe.. Using the Seas T17RE + tweeter Whether I leave them as 12 sides, or find a way to smooth them down to circular has yet to be decided. And they will eventually get a cap to suit and a "different" colour scheme |

Here is a 3d render someone did a fair while ago. I tried to do it with a orizontal layered structure, but mdf is too weak parallel to its surface even with pins through it, one fell over and broke in half, so that was that :-(
http://users.tpg.com.au/users/gradds/Conehead.jpg Thing is, I rather like the Corinthian effect, so I may leave it as it is. If I decide to smooth it to circular I will have to rig up something similar to a lathe. That does sound like a lot of work, but also a lot of fun !!! :-) maybe a tad dangerous too :-) |
