Default kenwood LS-707M

HAI iam using the KENWOOD LS-707M(3 way 4 speakers with 2 61/2 woofers,2"mid,1"ti tweeter) speakers with 30w+30w rms sony amp. and i found the soud is muddy and not good, but when i connected to a sony 125+125 w rms amp they sound good.please tell whats the problem whether the speaker or amp.
the speaker s are rated 170w rms max at back panal. they are make in japan and very old floor standing type.
