I built a pair of fostex 127E BR that just plain have something special when it comes to reproducing the electric guitar. The bass, mid-bass, and power handling are terrible. But the midrange just sounds like a viel has been lifted.
Are there any 2 or 3 way designs that have this attribute?
Why not add a woofer to your fostex. I've done this with my 4" fostex and am quite pleased. A 12" pro-sound woofer should do the trick. Just roll the fostex off with a single cap around 300Hz.
