NICE!

..and it has its own cool esthetic (while still complimenting the perceives). The other was looking a little to "wilson audio watch dog" - its nice to see something different.

I'm also impressed with the drivers - they seem to be "measuring-up". ..note that Qms is probably off a little as well.

I have the feeling that once you get the port and pairing amplifer "dialed-in" that this will be one "FAST" sounding subwoofer. I also think that it will sound more "spacious" than most subs with similar low freq. extension. Check back to this prediction latter (..once it's complete), to see If I'm full of cr@p or not.

alexcd..

I have my network back up and running again - if at this time you still want a little direction or explanations on the "sandbox" then just start a new thread in the subwoofer forum this next week and I'll look for it.

Hmmm, perhaps titled the "Sand Man"? ..exit light, enter night.. grains of sand - off to never never land...

Its just Coreldraw12, a vector art package. Dead easy to use but be prepared to put all the leg work in for working a scale and the angles. There's better methods for drawing up boxes but I find I can put an idea together very quickly, see if it works and also change or modify the idea just as quickly.

Blimey!

Went down to Lavers(timber yard) with my trusty cutting list in hand and got a big shock.

50p per cut. 50p per cut!?! WTF!

In the end I paid fifty odd quid for the sheets of MDF and nearly £40 for the cutting. Last time I do that.

The better be like, +/-0.01mm accuracy for that price, robbing gits. Stuff will hopefully be ready for tommorow and the sub finished by the evening with me sitting back enjoying some serious bass whilst supping a Stella. Sounds good to me

Thats actually a good price IF they did a CNC router cut-finish.

Here the morons at Home Despot say you get your first 2 cuts free per board and then 50 cents per each additional cut. Problem is - they are morons .. and they are using a basic vertical panel ripper for the cuts. (..accuracy? what accuracy?)

I have to babysit the cutting process with a tape measure - and even then I rarely get more than 4 cuts performed per board. Nice thing is, if/when they screw it up I send them back for another board.

Of course the moral of this tale is caveat emptor for those cuts (..i.e. measure them before assembly).

Tom, I'm insulted I don't think you can build something like the Perceives without a table saw.

I normally do all the cutting myself but TBH their were a LOT of cuts for this and I just didn't fancy spending 3 or 4 evenings covered in, or hovering up MDF dust. I thought I'd get a head start and have the timber yard do it, however its the first time I've used this service and didn't realise how much they're charging for that sort of thing.
