Visaton/Peerless 3-way tri-amped

I want a pair of floor standing speakers for my bedroom (~15 m^2) and no subwoofer as my neighbours are quite sensitive. I prefer quality over quantity (90db is more than plenty). I'm also on a tight budget (about 150$ per speaker) so this is what I've planned:

Bass Visaton W200S (winisd simulation attached)
Mids a pair of Peerless SDS134 (two because I like rock/metal and such music requires good midrange power handling)
Highs any tweeter below 25$ (Visaton DT94 and SC10 are candidates)

Crossovers points 350hz and 3500hz (or 500hz and 5000hz), 4th order LR. Low-mid amps are LM3886 per channel/band, not sure about highs yet. Maybe LM3875 would do. Or some simple Class A solid state amp.

So, what do you guys think?

Forget about a 3-way. For your application, a pair of Fostex FE206 full-range drivers with baffle-step compensation will blow everything else out of the water. You don't need a 3 way with all the problems associated with them if 90db is all you're looking for.

Search the net for plans on speakers based on these drivers...

Also, you only need about 5 watts for them to be loud, as they have a very good magnetic circuit.

Yes, fullrange sounds neat. But Fostex drivers have three problems.
First, none of them will be able to output the amount of bass of a single W200S.
Second, fullrange almost necessarily requires a complex and sensitive enclosure (that includes all transmission-line types).
And third, Fostex drivers are nearly impossible to get here and additional shipping would make the project too pricey. Visaton's B200 is also a good fullrange.
Anyway, though I only need around 90db for average listening, I also need the speakers that look impressive and can make some serious noise if needed.
So thanks for your suggestions but fullrange is just not very suitable for me now.

I´m listening to FE-167Es and they do blow nicely in my 25m^2 room.
They´d do especially so in a "proper" enclosure that squeezes a maximum of bass out of them (like FT1600).
I think even a 4 or 5"-Fostex would do in a TL.

Alternatively : Do you have access to Monacor or Tangband drivers?

Bass output increases from the first to the last suggestion and so the last might be too much for your neighbours/too big for your room. Outstanding price/quality ratio though!

There are a lot of Monacor kits which you´ll find on the net or you order their (usually free) catalog.

Visaton also has got many good 2-ways which would include a nice tweeter as the G20SC or similar. Haven´t listened to both but the SC10 is the much preferred over the DT94 (which tends to scream) in the Visaton forums.

No, I have no access to TangBand. What a shame. Here is a link that should give you pretty good summary of what's available here:

Basically it's most of Visaton's production and some of other manufacturers like Peerless.
Back to fullrange, please don't suggest any of the fancy box types as I have access to only the most primitive woodworking tools (that means simple sealed/vented boxes).
A two-way biamped or three-way biamped with a passive xo at mid/high are also good options imho.
Btw, could someone please tell me what's wrong with the setup I suggested in the first post?

For wxn: Absolutely nothing wrong with your first post...Your selection of chip amps should work great.

The Linkwitz/Riley(24db/oct) provides good phase integrity at the crossover point.I would see no problem using LM3886's across the board.

i would imagin in a well build box (aka: take your time) you might still run into problems with your neighbours
but when they're out....
