Default i'm new and need help

hi. i'm new to all this audio stuff. i recently aquired a pair of wharfedale achromatic speakers from my father and he wants me to sell them. since i have no experience in this i was wondering how much i could get for them. he purchased them about 40 years ago and he says they were top of the line. they are in excellent working order and have no dings and marks. they weigh 50 pounds each and 24 inches high and 14 and a hlf inches wide. i'm not sure if i'm in the right forum but if i'm not please forgive me and tell me which to go to.
thanks a bunch

Something (anything) is only worth what someone else is prepared to pay for them. As they are so heavy, I'd suggest you try your luck at a local street market or list them on Ebay with the proviso that they are picked up. Postage would be prohibitive.

If a prospective purchaser could listen to them first, you may get a better price if they sound ok.

Good Luck.

Hi there michaelvickfan7,

I would try to sell them in a local classifieds paper, one that has a bit of hifi gear in it. As for price, do a search on the net and see if any have been sold on ebay or online classifieds sites.
Or Do what my the other Aussie said to do, list them on ebay and state that it is pickup only due to size and weight.
Never know what you can get for them.

or go to the Audio Karma website :
http://65.219.61.150/forums/ and go to the speakers section, there will be guys in there that know about all sorts of vintage gear.

Hope this helps.
Tater
