Nomex is thermal insualtion tape why do you need to use that. Are you talking about Kapton or Kevlar (other Dupont products). We use Nomes for insualting wire (not round but flat 2mm x 40mm etc..).

'cause some speaker membranes (Peerless) and surrounds (Ciare) are made from Nomex.

that is odd..who would want a fire retardant membrane the surrounds are stranger neoprene i find is best yes one can odify neeporene and devleop variations of neoprene that will reduce teh harsh 2-4k region of hard cones.
