Im wondering if there is any one out there that has used the davis driver brands Ie maybe this one
http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showd...number=297-568 Im thinking about later on building a pair of small satelite speakers with this driver and the G2SI driver ( ribbon tweeter ) Id mostlikly be running these drivers on it's own channel of my amplifiers ie one channel of a amp per driver and a active xover infront of the imput on the driver.. Any comment's.. J' |

Hi, jleaman
I have built a pair of speakers out of 2 of these mid bass drivers and a Fostex FT66H txeeter in MTM configuration bass was handled by two 25cm carbon fibre Davis Woofers on each side the 16 gklv6m are straight enough to be left unfiltered on the upper range, or if you find these too rising, just put a 0.10 ou 0.15 mH inductor in series to flatten a bit. if you intend to biamp, a good transition is about 200/300 hz. they're not intended to make bass, so a woofer is required they're very smooth sounding, very neutral and analytical speakers. just loved them.... have fun

Davis drivers are very popular here in France. I sometimes hear some in shops and they have a nice, neutral and detailed sound. If one day I had to build multi-way speakers, I'd use some for the middle range.
