What ribbon tweeter would you recommend me for a 2-way loudspeaker project?
The main data: - Crossover point at 2.5KHz. - Made (or sold) in Europe. - Transparent sound, superior to non-ribbon tweeters at the same price. - Price up to 200Eur per unit. Thanks and regards |

I'll second the LCY recomendation..possibly the best tweeter currently available within its bandwidth.

If the xo- point at 2,5 kHz isn't a must, why not use a Visaton MHT 12?
http://www.visaton.de/english/artikel/art_684_1_83.html Newly avaiable with minor modifications and as selected pair (selection costs 25 EUR extra per pair)... IMHO

Every time i turn around there are more ribbons & psuedo-ribbons... great for someone averse to domes.

Thanks for the tips!
The Visaton seems to be an interesting option, if crossed at 3KHz. I have noticed they have drivers of all kind. What do you think about the Visaton woofers with aluminium cones? |

Well, I'm using the "AL 170" in my current system. They need a little correction to handle their membrane resonances, but they are worth the money...
I'm planning to use the "AL 130 M" (out of stock) in a classic 3- way- System when the time is ready for it... But I heard the "AL 130" in a comparision to the "TI 100 M", and there wasn't much difference between them... But like all aluminium cones: If you can handle the resonances, they are really good.

Oooops, my fault...
I heard the "AL 130" in a test together with the "TI 100" (not the "M"- model)... And maybe one of my next speakers will contain the "AL 200" too... ****, why am I not allowed to edit my posts at any time?

The lcy one looks interesting , round but ribbon in the middle in a rectangular shape. But I couldn't get to more detailed data.
