I have a pair of Alesis M1 amps that I bought a while back from Apexjr. They were gathering dust on a shelf, so I thought I would finally put them to use, using a pair of Peerless 4ohm woofers. But I can't seem to get a clear cut answer (yes I e-mailed Steve at Apex) as to whether a 4ohm woofer would present a problem load for this amp. The National site rates the LM3886T @ 68 watts RMS into 4 ohms. But I read where someone had problems with this, but no specifics. Any help would be appreciated before I test it myself.

Depends on what voltage the SMPS puts out.. I haven't checked mine yet to see what the voltages are. If the rails are around 20-25v, it should be no problem. If the voltages are higher, it will run into current limiting into that load.
