how about the new seas W15LY001 driver.
Is this better driver used in mid/bass ? It's upper range is extend to 4K ?

You can easily find photos and data sheets via google.
At the moment I'm experimenting with this driver as a woofer, it has fantastic performance in upper bass. Below 60 Hz I'm not very happy at the moment but as I said, I'm still plaing with it. greetings Till |

Top row, middle of the attached image below. Grayish cone. The phase plug is brushed aluminum. This is one of a bunch of 15cm drivers I'm about to test. Results will eventually be published.

LOL i was just about to reference zaph's upcoming minitest (but he beat me to it!).
The nextel coned drivers have been out for a while and i wish at least one or two established loudspeaker designs using the 7 incher were around. Zaph's and this test here: http://www.diymobileaudio.com/forum/...ead.php?t=1025 really make me stand up and take notice (price-performance issues aside). very close to the mag cone excels without the associated hideous resonant peak and resultant reduced usable freq range. maybe with the 5 inch some designs will pop up. |

seas now has two different versions of 15cm nextel midranges. the W15LY tested poorly in audio magazines...
