Default Excellent B&W paper

Discusses diamond & other cone materials, decoupling, matrix, crossovers, etc etc. Don't agree with it all but it's interesting nonetheless.

A 6Mb file that turns out to be the most ridiculous .pdf I've ever seen. I'd like to get my hands on the moron who is responsible for commiting the paper to pdf.

I've seen enough .pdf files to know that this is a lousy job. I'm just sick of seeing people do crummy work and I'm venting.

If you read past the marketing, there's some useful info there. Certainly worth 5 minutes of anyone's time.

Just get a DVD from this direct link or starting from here.

The DVD contains some performances from differing artists. I like the one from classical pianist Alfred Brendel. The "Art of Sound" section of the DVD is most interesting... All those lovely drivers on the assembly line, laser interferometer measurement of drivers and enclosures, curved enclosure construction etc... There's also brochure-like talk about the very basics of loudspeakers as a whole.

Oh yeah, the animated 3D presentations are cool!

I think Bill is one of the users here that has a 56k modem, what with his constant bash of pictures bigger then 10k and links to webpages full of pictures.

That would be painful to DL at 56K....the B&W server appears to be very bandwidth limited.

Its kinda boring now, not to mention rude, he should just backup out of any threads that annoy him with large pictures and just let it rest.

Personally if its a large image ~1Mb that is something I'm interested in I don't mind the wait.

Ever since even early Windows versions users have been able to multitask. I just did some work whilst it loaded

Perhaps the objection wasn't based on file size, but the techincal accuracy or marketing hype.

I love B&W stuff myself. Always exciting to see what they're up to.

I noticed the numerous references to 'bass slam' and 'dynamics' - things all B&Ws I've heard are good at.... and my own speakers lack
