We were actually looking at the 193... that one is interesting but the trad-off is 5 dB of efficiency means going from ~ 80 Hz Fs to 150 Hz Fs.

do you suppose with the greater excursion and power handling that the 193 will be able to put out more sound across the whole range than the 194, or will the low sensitivity prohibit that? It won't need to play loud but the rooms it will be filling will be large, and it need to be at least audible

You would be surprised at how low a level we usually listen too... they will probably be fine.

the 193 becomes excursion limited at about 125 Hz, i expect the 194 wouldn't give much below 200. And these have some of the best bottom of the lot.

Not yet... Bart/Illusus is getting 4 drivers to experiment with (2-3 litres gross internal volume looks about right).
