Hi, im a newbie to this forum and i am also new to all this amplifier/stereo stuff. I was just wondering:
-Can someone please explain to me what ohms are and how they work?
-Is it possible to connect car speakers (4 ohms) to my Yamaha Digital Amplifier (6 ohms)?

I hope i posted this in the right forum!
Thanks.

-An ohm is a unit of measurement for electrical impedance. Google is your friend for more info.
-Your Yamaha amp may or may not like the 4ohm load that your car speakers will present to it. Some Yamaha's have an 'Impedance Selector' switch that will allow you to connect a 4ohm load to the mains section only. Check your manual and/or the back of your receiver.

hth,
