Sorry I missed this post earlier... I'm running the following setup:

Marantz CD -> (spdif) -> TA-E9000ES -> (custom rca-xlr interconnect) -> DCX-2496 -> (custom xlr-rca interconnect) -> TA-N9000ES (using 4 channels right now, will be upgrading to 3x 2 channel amps soon)

Sounds like we're going to be building very similar speakers, maybe we can put together a group purchase on bass drivers, have you looked at the TC2+ yet? They are supposed to have lower distortion than the XLS used in the orion and will easily play upto 300-400hz ... 19mm+ of x-max can't hurt either
