Default Newbie Stufffing question

Well stuffing is said to increase the apparent volume of an enclosure.Could someone pls explain how this happens?

Seriously, the fibres vibrate and convert acoustic energy into heat energy. The box seems infinite because all the backwave (in theory) is absorbed and nothing is rebounded back to the cone.

Double Whammy, lol.
