I’m a newbie, so if this seams at all crazy, I’m sorry. I am looking at replacing a pair of ADC 303ax speakers, one of the drivers is going out. I am on a college student budget, so I started looking at Paradigm’s line (Titans), but now believe that a DIY project has more value. At first I was attracted to the Dayton’s BR-1, but am now thinking that I can retrofit my old ADC’s, put in new drivers and crossovers and get a much better speaker. I wanted any suggestions on kits/ideas/thoughts/condemnation/etc on how I can do this, or if I even should.
The cabinets has an outside dimension of 24’x13’x12’, and an inner of 22.5x11.5x10.25. The woofer in it is 10’ along with the tweeter. I would like to keep the project on a college, but I don’t mind spending the money where I can hear it to put together a very high quality, efficient speaker. Thanks for the help in advance. Nate |
