Default Data sheet for B220SS

Does anyone have data for the Volt B220SS ?, I have drawn a blank when trying to find out anything more than the most basic of TS data which was given over the phone by Volt, several hours of searching the 'net has told me nothing at all!. I would assume that Volt must have full data for it somewhere, but I can't really blame them for not wanting to search the factory for a data sheet on an obsolete driver and then scan it and e-mail it to me

Hi Richj,
Yes it is definitely a B220SS, it says so on the back and when I rang Volt, the guy there instantly recognised the type number.
It seems that the design of these units is about 20 years past but that they were (as far as I know) quite state of the art back then, I reckon they're probably well above average even now, they certainly look the part!. I don't know when they stopped making them.
Volt were only able to tell me Qe, Qa, Qt, Vas, Xmax, efficiency and resonant frequency, but having had a quick look at some speaker design software (unibox so far but have downloaded winIDS to try) it seems that a few other parameters are required, hence I have been trawling the web for more info....a data sheet would be nice!
Another possible problem is that the data sheet for the B220.2, which is their current replacement for the B220SS, shows Vas as 52 litres but I was told on the phone that its 93 for the B220SS, now the Volt guy told me that the 220.2 is really quite similar to the 220SS and certainly their current range of 8" units all have values around the 52 litre mark, has the Volt guy given me the wrong value for Vas?

Do you have any test equipment? Measuring the parameters for youself isn't that difficult.

Or you could send me pair, and I'd measure them for you, ( of course, keeping the two as payment! )

Default testing TS data

Yes pinkmouse I have loads of test gear and it looks like I am going to have to measure the TS for myself as you suggest, thats if nobody finds an old copy of the data sheet to post on the site...
I'm as lazy as most at the end of the day

Hi there....
Someone from Volt should have done better on this one esp when its a manufacturer !
The 220ss doesn't ring a bell........although www.wilmslowaudio.com might by slimest chance have a spec sheet.
