Hey, I wanna dive into home audio diy, I've been into car audio for a bit, so i know the basics. I want to put together 2 towers with a 15" woofer, 5" mid, and 1" tweeter in each, but i'm kind of confused on the crossovers and wiring....If I use all 4ohm speakers how do I wire it? I'm kinda clueless. I'm planning on buying the TEAC AG-790 STEREO RECEIVER for 130$ off parts express to power them. Can anyone tell me what crossovers to buy, and what ohm speakers? I searched but with no avail. Thanks a ton.

Have you considered using PA drivers? Like a big 'ol whoopass woofer and horn tweeter?
If this is your first project, then perhaps you should keep it simple, like a two way. You can buy drivers, horns and XO's premade and just build yourself a box. Or even consider going Coax like I have done. Even simpler. Cal |

You probably want to build a kit. Designing crossovers depends on the drivers you purchase and ultimately takes a good deal of testing and experience in design.
Here's another kit that has qualities that you want from a designer that really knows his stuff, IMO: http://www.soundandvisionmag.com/ide...?topicID=37857 Have fun! |
