Default Proac 2.5 clone with ribbon tweeter

Hi there

I have been thinking about trying a 2.5 clone with a ribbon tweeter. Not having much experience with crossover design I contacted Troels Graveson who very kindly did a theoretical X-over design for a clone using either the Fountek JP3.0 or Aurum Cantus G2Si ribbon tweeters. I have not built them yet, but I post the design here as I think it may be of interest to everyone.
Please note that you can use either the Fountek or Aurum Cantus tweeters and that you may want to experiment with the tweeter level by adjusting R1031 ONLY.

Here is the X-over design and theoretical response graphs.

Default "Clone".....

.....seems this word is being stretched further and further !!

I always thought it meant an exact copy..

My question is, when does a clone cease to be a clone ???

anyway........
go for it !, I'm pretty sure Troels will have done a good job !!

Hi there

I agree that it is no longer a 2.5 clone, but used that name because just about everyone knows how to build the enclosure and how to tune the port for it. Maybe someone can come up with a better name.

Anyway, I will post the results once I have built them.

Dirk
