Default New Proposal

Alright here is my newest plan, after doing lots and lots of research and modeling, and as always I'd like as many comments as possible.

How about using the Dayton RS270 in parallel down to 4 ohms, making it 93.5 db efficent, and subtracting 6 db away for Baffle Step comp, making it around 87.5db efficent (given that I model the correct baffle, etc). What if I was to use the Vifa PL11WG09-04, which is a 4ohm mid/woof which is 87db sensitive, to avoid baffle step compensation circuitry all together.

My concern is the quality of the driver, and the 35 watt power handling. I would plan on using it x-over around 500hz, and 2500hz, and I was thinking a Fountek JP3 tweeter, or a Vifa XT25.

Any thoughts on this plan, before I start modeling?

For baffle step correction your woofers have to be more efficient then your tweeter.

Most tweeters operate in 2 PI space whereas woofers operate in 4 PI space. The midrange slopes downward. All depending on the baffle width.

What is this in response to?

The way I have it planned the overall sensitivity of the woofer was 93.5db, and the midrange 87, and after correcting for baffle step they would be the same.

My tweeters are all more efficent than either and I had planned on correcting for this anyway.

The way I understood your question was that you wanted to use a midrange sensitivity to compensate for baffle step.
