Dayton reference 8"

I am about to order/build my first speaker project. My research has pointed me to the Dayton Reference 8" woofer. Reasonable performance and good price for an aluminum 8". Can anyone give me a review on this woofer?

Check out the DIY forum at www.htguide.com and you'll find some info. Jon Marsh has played around with these woofers. Although his philosophy toward speaker design is quite unconventional (cauer eliptical 8th order filters at low frequencies), his insight to the drivers will certainly be helpful.

Thanks - do you know of anyone other than Parts Express that carry Dayton products?

Dayton is a PE private label (OEM) brand.
