I've decided to give up my super high efficiency requirement and settle for 90dB+ and have decided on an MTM instead of a TMMW. Considerations:
-Hiquphon OWII + 2x Peerless 850122 (6.5" CSX) -Hiquphon OWII + 2x Peerless 850439 (6.5" HDS) -Hiquphon OWII + 2x Extremis Peerless preferred due to price. Other suggestions? |

hmm, maybe 850467 would be better (HDS w/ pp), it wants more box volume...

You can park the 850467 into a 13litre ported box and its still sounds good, tuned to about 40hz.
If you use duel 467's you will get a speaker of 87dB sensativity after you have compensated for bafflestep. I like the 467's they sound nice and can be built into lots of different box types.

Having recently heard a TMM using the Extremis I can recommend using them if you can spare a little more cash. Incredibly impressive drivers. One nice thing is the very friendly impedance. Wired in parallel they still stay above 5 ohm.

Timn8ter, have you heard the HDS too? If I can get a comparison between the 2, that would be cool.

I've not heard them in pairs but I have heard them in a TM. They are quite nice but IMHO they don't have the dynamics of the Extremis and don't get as low.
