This is my first post to this site so excuse me if this is not DIY enough. I recently purchased a set of these 2nd hand for $20. One of the tweeters is blown but I may have a sourse for a replacement. In the meantime I'm going to build new cabinets as the originals are soaked with oil and smell real bad. My plan is to build them much heavier and shaped like an oblisk like the old Ohms, for phase alignment, and them use them for HT. I have not been able to find the specs on the original tweeters and may need to find a suitable replacement. These speakers were pretty well thought of and just to try them out I replaced the blown tweeter with a Foster dm25M16 that is pretty tolerable with a 2ohm resister to pad the thing down. Does anyone here know of a time proven replacement for the original tweeter?
TIA, John.......... |
