I Got Newb Questions...

I've successfully built and modified the CMOY headphone pocket headphone amp, so I do have experience with soldering and a limited (very limited) knowledge of circuit diagrams.

I now want to move on to something bigger...this:

There is a simple circuit diagram provided. Can I just build that on Radio Shack protoboard? And use regular old solder? Or is there some special kind of solder you need when building speaker circuits.

Also, is this project worth it? It is only $200, which considerably less than most other floorstanding projects I've seen. I currently own and love a pair of Klipsch RF-3s. Can anyone familiar with these give me a comparison? Will the Jubilees be anywhere close to the Klipsch? Anywhere close at all??? If not, which project would you recommend?
