ok... i am thinking about a dipole system... a small 2 way connected with larger subs.
what frequency should I cross my subs to the dipole 2-way and how wide should I make my baffle on the 2-way? should I roll of the low frequencys more on the 2-way? Thanks!

Money, money, money - what's your budget?
The larger the baffle is, the lower and louder the bass will go (but never any louder than if it was a monopole speaker). Ideally, you'd cross at or below 80Hz, but since it's a small 2-way, you won't have enough output at that frequency, so the subs might have to go up to 100Hz-150Hz. Of course, this could change, depending on how loud you listen to music. The higher you cross, the more important sub positioning becomes. Are you constrained to a 2-way system because of space requirements? |

i have a low powered tube amp for the small 2-way dipole.
probably run a powered sub for rest. i am just looking for what frequency i should cross a sub and my monitors over at to determine baffle width of the small 2-ways. also need to determine what drivers i want to use...

Suggest you go to SL's site and work with his dipole calculator (excel spreadsheet). That will show you driver excursion vs baffle width etc.
