Default WANTED: input on efficient party speakers.

Ive decided that id like to make a couple of party speakers, maybe 2 12 or 10" woofs, or maybe one 12 or one 15". Tweeters i know nothing about so ill need some help there. I'm also on a budget, dont want it to be too expsensive. not sure of the budget yet, if these are doable for 300 then that would be perfect.

They dont need THAT low of a response, just enough to get a bit of the punchy bass, so maybe to 60hz?

What i DO want is efficiency, if i decide to host a party in my backyard, i want to have enough SPL off say 100 watts per channel to make some good sound.

If you could give me some reccomendations with the woofs and tweets from partsexpress that woudl be GREAT.

Cab size isnt really an issue

**edit

plan on maybe adding a horn sub later

Wow! lots of good suggestions so far! are the pispeakers kits for pairs or for single speakers only? the theater series caught my eye.

Question, ive heard of people dropping atlas 15"s into the adire tempest alignments, does this mean that i would have good sucess with an atlas 15 in the tempest horn?

Throw a Selenium 15 coax into a ported box- should be cheap and easy.

Wouldn't a 15" and a piezo or horn tweeter seperately be cheaper than the selenium?

The Pi speaker kits are priced per speaker.

While not a kit, Audio Advisor is selling the Athena AS-F2 speakers for 399 bucks, shipping included.

Review here:

http://www.stereophile.com/loudspeak...645/index.html

93.5 db 1W/1M efficiency, real bass extension down to 30Hz.

I've heard them and they sound GREAT and would make good party speakers.
