I have the components to build a set of Buschhorns. All the detailed construction sites I've seen use Birch Ply. Although MDF is nasty stuff to work with, I find it very easy to cut with my table saw. I've built several sets of speakers and used MDF for all. I also like to veneer them and MDF makes it easy to apply exotic veneer. Is there something about ply that is preferred for fullrange driver based horns?

Rigidity.... plywood will not flex as much as MDF will. How low bass is the horn expected to reproduce? How thick is the material? How much difference do you think it will make?

Use plywood... people that have built them out of mdf haven't liked them as much as plywood ones... my buddy running FE108ES tossed his MGF B-Horns and rebuilt with ply.

OK thanks. I kinda thought that the MDF may just be too dead for this type of speaker. I'll use ply.
