i'm thinking of adding a fostex t90a supertweeter (8 ohm) to a pair of supravoxes (4 ohm) on open baffles.
if i connect the supertweeter in parallel what is the system impedance going to be? i found a calculator that says 2 2/3. this is low for my amps that have 4 ohm taps. any help will be (as usual) appreciated. |

The supertweeter needs a higpass filter so the impedance will not change for the woofers. The impedance will be 4 Ohm (nominal) in the low/mid frequencies covered by the woofers and then, in the supertweeter region, the impedance will be 8 Ohm (nominal).
Impedance is not well represented by a single number, it is frequency dependant. F |
