Default Vifa woofer

What happens if i connect the Vifa woofer below to a plate amp with a crossover between 60 and 120 hz?

Kind of an odd question, but can this be done to where it will sound reasonable?

Thanks

Default very odd thing to do...

The P21WO requires a biggish volume to produce good bass. You would do far better using an M26WR which actually requires a smaller box !!! or similar 10"or 12",

Out of interest Andy, what size box for the M26? I'm running mine in about 70L vented at the moment (can't remember the tuning).... though when I rebuild the cabinets I was thinking of making them a little bigger (80 - 85L).

Tony.

Default a quick run on BB6...

normal vented is about 50L tuned to 30Hz with a 75mm diam port 240mm long

extended bass, 95L tuned to 25Hz with a 75mm vent 145mm long.

this is using T/S as provided in BB6.

Hope that helps !

Thanks Andy, I hadn't tried simming as big a volume as 95L!! I'll give that a try.

Even the 50L 30Hz seems very different to what I have at the moment!

I seem to remember unibox coming up with 65L as the optimum (for flat) when I simmed it (had a 70L box already so just wacked them in it, and tuned it based on best sim in unibox (I can't remember the tuning freq, checked my notes and didn't write it down, lost the speaker workshop files with a HD crash too, doh).

funnily enough I found some notes I scribbled and it had dimentions for a 93.5L box with THE ONE!!!! beside it..... so I must have been simming at those volumes after all.

Tony.
