Default Line Array: NSB + Dayton PT2B Planar Tweeter ?

I'm searching archives for answers but I will ask also.

Has anyone done a NSB + PT2 array where you use
at least 4 PT2 tweeters per array ?

I want to build a cheap line array for a friend with no money
using tweeters that I have in stock. I really don't want to spend
alot of money for HIS speaker project. I'm doing this as a favor.

I plan to give him eight Dayton PT2 tweeters and maybe use four
of them per line array tower, perhaps designing the tower to
accomodate up to eight tweeters to allow him to upgrade later if
he so chooses.

I need to buy some low cost midranges to mate with these
tweeters. Do you think a line array of 16 to 20 NSB's per tower
would be a good match with this tweeter ? My target crossover
frequency is 2.5khz plus or minus 500hz.

Or

Would the Vifa midrange be a better choice, but it cost $4 ea
vs. 50 cents for NSB's. /hehe

Hi thylantyr,

Your project for your friend sounds good. The NSB 50 cent cost is misleading however. I just bought 28 of the $4.94 299-145 drivers and it cost me almost $50.00 to have them shipped to California by the cheapest way possible. The person taking my order said he had just sent an order of the NSB's to California and the shipping was way more than the drivers. So figure the total cost before making up your mind.

I'm making a cheapo line array project to play with and will be modding the drivers as per www.madspeaker.com. Seems like the most bang for the buck - not counting the sweat equity. Maybe you could put your friend to work doing the driver mods!

Best Regards,
Graeme

Same here, expect $16 and $20, respectively.
