Default Has anyone taken the phase plug off the XT25 tweeter yet?

There was a thread last year which dealt with some mod's to the XT25 tweeter. I raised the issue at the time about whether the author of the thread has listened to the tweeter with the phase plug off. He hadn't. My theory would be that the off-axis response would become a little "messy" but that the off axis response would become more extended?
Has anyone doen this yet???
