I recomment you to not run an active filter on a true ribbon. I have tried it myself on my meassuring amplifier and that did not go so well, even without signal input. (A Cambridge P500). It was on an Aurum Cantus G3Si. The ribbon flexed into the grille on the tweeter and lost its saw tooth shape.
okay can you explain where to put those caps??
how is the fountek jp2.0 i can se i can get it at the local pusher for about 90$ more for both..
i was thinking of the active xo from lcaudio..

wuffer,
Just place the cap somewhere between the amp and the driver in the positive (red) wire of your speaker cable. I'm listening to them in a temporary setup with an Audax PR170M0 driver on a narrow open baffle, so it's easy to just plug it in. If you're building a real box, you'd probably want to put it inside.
How are the JP2's? I love 'em! I have a pair of JP3's as well and I like the JP2 much more. It's quite effortless and very, very smooth. For the price, it's a great tweeter.

Then maybe you should also look at the NeoCD 2. It has a slightly heavier ribbon, but it can take much more power and the impedance peak should not be of any problem with active cross over.
The capacitor must be in series with the tweeter like a first order passive cross over. Make sure to have it large enough so you do not have any phase distortion within an octave or two from the cross over frequency.
