Default Alto Pro Digital Crossover

http://www.altoproaudio.com/html/crossovers_digital.php

Does anyone have any substantive experience with this line?

Looks like a possible alternative to the Behringer.

Do the outputs need to be attenuated for home use like the Behringer? Is the floor to the filter present like it is in the Behringer when using analog input?

Yes, I have listened two models of Alto digital XO:s, "altodrive 2,3 " and " maxidrive3,4" and that Driverack PA from dbx.
Maxidrive has been a clear winner in all aspects. I stronlgly recommend to give it a try. Altodrive is also acceptable but for some reason that dbx totally sucked in my system. IMHO, that maxidrive is almost ridiculously good deal for the money it costs, at least here where I live where it is some 550 Euros. Behringer (is that "ultradrive?") is so far unknown product for me, but some friends (occupied in pa\broadcast, that is professional users and also "usually reliable sources" ) have reported that its sound quality is not even in the ballpark compared to Alto and even that dbx. But remember, that was only a second hand rumour! Behringer lovers please forgive me! I have not listened to it!
I have used that Alto for testing subs with my loudspeakers, I think I buy it and add woofers in my wideband loudspeakers. Xover frequensies appeared to be 55hz 2nd order for subs and 115hz 1st order for mids\mains.

"attenuated?" I have found it ( that alto maxidrive) to be very convenient source for extra 12 db gain, that is I have used it with full "amplification" ., and with full input sensitivity, with no negative side effects, unlike for example dbx whicshs sound became unbearably _cheap_, distorted, and transistorlike with more than lets say +2-3 dB:s.
I have used it with 0.75 watt direct coupled single end ( 6s19p-ev output, 6n1p srpp input ) for main drivers and 6550 push pull for woofers ( 15 inch drivers from RCF's catalogue) . Next week Ill try some LabGruppen and Kind Audio amps for the woofers.
Main drivers are Goodmans Axiom 80's, "Wembley"-ones, sensitivity 110 db\w in reflex enclosures. So, I liked to say that the sound quality of that Maxidrive is good if it becames together with that kind of equipment and doesnt appears to be "out of place".

I almost bought one of these a year or so ago. Though they look a litttle tacky, they sound ok, and they certainly had plenty of room inside the case for modding.

I downloaded the manual and the Maxidrive 3.4 uses 20-bit 48kHz A/D and D/A. Not exactly SOTA although the proof is in the listening and I haven't heard one. About the Driverack sounding bad boosting the signal, most likely the digital stages were clipping. You can open it up and set jumpers for the analog input and output gains if you have an unusual setup. Most of these boxes are designed to run at unity gain.
