Default Will the REAL Morel please stand up

Saw two different booths at the CES 2005 for Morel. Logos looked similar and some drivers were similar, though they both appeard to have newer models than what have been around for years and years. So my question is, "Who is the original?"

I also saw Peerless of India and got that mess straightened out for me by the guys at the DST room.

Thanks.....Greg

Can of worms!

stand well back...

from my understanding they are basically the same company going their seperate ways but arguing over the name. I have played with a couple of their drivers back to back and I know which products I would buy. I think in the next few years we will see them diversify with different products as they follow their different paths, at the moment though they have a very similar back catalogue of products.

Ahh my favourite topic

This is a very good read if you like to make your own mind up. Replies from both companies to each other.... Read as far as you can before you get bored as it gets juicer towards the end.

It's worth keeping in mind that most of the guys posting on Morel Israels behalf have since resigned..

-----------------

I'm biased as I import one of the brands into the UK. But regardless, as long as you know what product you're buying you will find both sides make a quality product.

PS..

Thats a nice mushroom

Morel mushrooms are second only to truffles in taste. They are best fried with some bacon, or in an omelet.

Too bad they only sell dried ones around here. I remember when I was a kid still in Bulgaria, I came across them on many occasions, but didn't know they were edible back then...

Another delectable mushroom is the chanterelle. I've used it in this marvellous recipe. You can use other kinds of mushrooms than specified in the recipe, and actually I'd recommend it -- I usually use five or six kinds (some mushrooms, like enoki, need less cooking time, so they should be added later). I've also substituted wine for the brandy and it works out just as good. It makes a difference if you slice the mushrooms quite thin, maybe three mm. Rather than bothering to separate the thyme leaves from the stalks, you can just tie a bunch of thyme stalks together into a bouquet and throw it out after cooking. This recipe is even better with more thyme than specified.

my take on it, is that the Morel USA story is the 'more correct' version, and is the original company. However, it seems that Israel makes the better product
