Are you really using the mike that closely? Really, you want to back it off a meter or two, otherwise you won't get a very accurate frequency response measurement.

Near-field can be appropriate (understanding the corrections involved) for low frequencies.

Dear 5th Element,

Thanks for your help. The 1.2 ohm resistor is in fact a rheostat-like device that AN labelled as 'variable resistor 5ohm'. Maybe this is for custom calibration.

I have contacted them on this matter & they have sent the crossover schematic. I hope the tweeter is the problem. If the tweeter turns out ok, then my conclusion would be that the AN speaker is not my cup of tea. Expensive experiment.

Do both of the tweeters measure like this? if so it seems doubtful that they got damaged in transit, but it is very unusual for a tweets response to do that.
