I'd like to build a speaker simular shape to b&ws. I guess there must be reason to separate the tweeter unit, right. Is there anyway to get a tube like b&w tweeter tube enclosures? Anybody tried to do that? Thanks in advance.

Having the tweeter in a separate enclosure is intended to limit edge diffraction. The jury is still out as to its efficacy, as there aren't many others who also use that concept, and imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. If you want to do the same just get a Fostex supertweeter.

Moving the drivers forward and backwards to allow for time alignment is crossover specific. If this is going to work you would need to design the crossover how you want it for the individual driver, ie you want 4th order slopes at 3khz, you design this then measuring, move the tweeter around with reverse polarity until you get the notch you desire, flip the phase and check they sum well. You will find that the amount you have to move the tweeter will change with the xover used.
You cannot simply say tweeter x's acoustic centre is 25mm infront of woofer y's, lets move it and sort that problem out.

Morel makes several top mount tweeters. The MDT38, MDT41 and MDT43. Morel can pretty much be recommended unconditionally. HiVi also makes a pod tweeter, the TN28 I believe.
The idea is to reduce early reflections and improve imaging. Does it work? Is it a good idea? Well maybe - I'm not so convinced. The fostex pods are really supertweeters not tweeters. It's a different thing, intended to be used with a full range driver or midrange horn, for the top octave only. GB |

if you're familiar with fiberglass, i guess you can do that
take anything with a similar shape to what you intend and lay some fiberglass on sand, sand, sand, and sand then paint |
