Hi !
I have just found a new home for my last DIY speakers. Now i want to build something normal, straight and good sounding. The topic: 2way in a BR enclosure "bookshelf" size. I have done some research, and those woofers are in a duel: Monacor SPH-165KEP - I would like to make an MTM of that (like the leopards mentioned earlier). XO at 2.5 kHz (or less) and a very fast dome (Morel, Eton.... suggestions?). I would only want to make an MTM of that. Usher 8945-P - I would use it to build the Euphase's design http://www.euphase.com/design/km-u2/KM-u2.asp with 9950-20 dome. Why i try to choose between two monacors and one usher? Cost reasons. Two monacors here in PL still cost less than the usher. So what do you vote for? which one would give me better overall sound quality? Are those two to be even compared? Another thing. My friend has a pair of PHL 1340 from stock overhang. And i believe he is ready to sell them for a price that would be comparable with those two setups. What dome would you suggest to team it up with? I don't want a ribbon because of it's fragility.... So please choose and state your arguments: 1. two Monacors SPH-165KEP for an MTM 2. Usher 8945-P for the Euphase's KM-u2 3. PHL 1340 for a 2way with a nice dome

don't you? I wouldn't be worried Never heard that Usher. Also, that link doesn't work. If you already choose Monacors drivers ,take a look at their DT-400 dome tweeter, it realy looks nice, it is much cheaper than Morel or Eton. i'm not saying it is better but is worth of considering it. |

Euphase's site doesn't work... I got the project files from him, and i think he wouldn't mind if i publish them on the net for the time he's site is offline...
