While I may quickly get shot down for this, I recently took an old pair of Avid 102's which date back from 1978, and "literally" swapped out the old tweeters and woofers with the following.
Tweeter...DAYTON DC28F-8
Woofer...DAYTON DC250-8 (10 inch)
The crossover is the stock Avid 102 crossover which crosses over at 2000...
They sound amazing. I know I went against all the rules, but it was an experiment. My question is, how would I be able to recreate this project using a stock dayton crossover with maybe a zobel filter and a tweeter pad? (I basically want to make another set of these for my basement) Thanks!
