Default Directional speaker placement

I was wondering if there is anything to the bose style cube speakers. They have gone from the single cube to the double cube and encourage you to point them in seperate directions. I am going to be building corner speaker cabinets and was wondering if I should install two 3" speakers, one facing down the wall and the other facing into the room. Should this be done to insure a more "filling" sound?

That dual angle deal is one of those things that seems like a very good idea to people who don't know anything about audio engineering theory, which is 99% of the public. It's also one of the worst ways you can build a speaker, guaranteed to cause massive response ripples and comb filtering effects. Bose is interested in what sells, and not what sounds good. Steer clear.

Why are you putting your speakers in the corner anyway?

The area that the TV sits with the couches ais 10' in width and one side is the outside wall and the other is the steel beam for the basement. My locations are limited. I did not want them to be in the way. But also don't want them to lack in sound.

"No highs, no lows, must be Bose!"
