"Different" Jensen woofers.

Hey guys,

A couple years back I bought some strange Jensen 10" woofers,just because they were "different" and were cheap.

I think they are Jensen "3P" 10" woofers.
They are different because they use a flat (coated?) styrofoam cone (Piston),they almost look like a passive radiator,but have a fairly large magnet structure(and,of course,voice coil) on the back.They are only maybe ~4 inches deep.

I forget exactly what they say on the rear (they aren't here at the moment.)..

" Poly Piston ___ "
something along those lines.

Has anyone ever seen these? Perhaps someone has some info on them? Any ideas for a tweeter to match,x-over points,etc?
They should make an interesting project.

So,I finally found my papers with some test measurements on these speakers.

From Speaker Workshop:
Fs: 34.767Hz
Vas 2.129 CuFt
Qts: 0.585
Qms: 3.411
Qes: 0.707
Le: 1.541 mH
L1: 0.239 mH
Re (DCR) 5.561 ohms
Xmax: 0.394 in
Bl: 0.100

Sealed box volume 1.060 Cu Ft
Added Mass 0.035 Oz

I also have Impedance/Phase plots that I will try to scan.

Ohh,and the pics are now also on my photobucket site

Some interesting looking speakers,in any case. Still not sure what to do with them. Any thoughts?

What sort of enclosure might the spec's suggest?
(my first thought was that they may make interesting OB's,I dunno.)

Hi,

Sealed box or much larger but goes deeper TL or MLTL.

Must be used in a 3-way I would say, likely very dodgy midrange.
