Hi Lieven,

Thank you for your prompt reply and valuable information. The data that you provide for the Gauss 3288 unit agree exactly with the Gauss 3288 datasheet that I have.

Glad to know that the model no. of the cabinet is 7228 as well as the cabinet dimensions (21 1/2" x 18" x 16"). Is 21 1/2" the width or the height? Do you have the picture showing the front of the cabinet so that I can get more information regarding the port?

As a side information, I have a picture of the Gauss 7258 (cabinet for the Gauss 3588 15" co-axial unit) which show that there are two rectangular ports on either side the the Gauss 3588, and the width of the cabinet is greater than the height.

Looking forward to hearing more from you. I really appreciate your kind assistance. THANK YOU!

Best Regards,

T.C. MA

21 1/2 " is the width and at first sight the little 7228 is just a shrinked version of the bigger 7258 (29"x24"x19 1/2"), including the sizes of the ports:
just a guess:
port hight: 30% of total enclosure size,
width: half of enclosure width free between side wall and speaker outer bord.

The picture is showing the 7228 on an angled view beside the 7258.
So my guess is that it's all by rule of thumb an nearly exact shrinked version of the picture you've got.

there is mentioned
Mms=115 gram ????? not shure that's correct (Xmax is stated at 9mm wich is far from original numbers)

73lbs, what a monster. I've been looking for something to put in a Jensen Imperial rear horn and this thing models quite well in a 2/3 wide version. +/- 3db 30-100hz at 97db/1w/1m against a wall, so you'd have to EQ the bass down some below 100, then the front radiation takes over cleanly.
