For $10,000+ it's a rip off. What makes you think it's worth cloning?

Take components for 1000$, add a million on marketing speak and sell for 10000$......Impressive!

The markup is not that big compared with many other brands. Those tweeters are not cheap. I bet the speakers are very good. I played around with that combo some years ago ands the sound was very good indeed, even with a suboptimal x-ing.

Why everyone cloning something? Bigest pleasure is when you make speakers from scratch , by yourself. Use imagination people, and make unique designs.

http://www.merlinmusic.com/vsm.htm Dimensions and more, x-over point, construction details. I don't think you can buy the esotar tweeter. I was thinking of cloning the Merlin TSM. I think cloning is fine. It offers a chance to create something that sounds good if you don't have the necessary design skills. |

Hi,
in some countries you can still buy the T 330 D Esotar tweeter from Dynaudio. Costs about € 360 here (thats about US$ 470). Grtz, Joris |
