Default Dayton 8-inch sound quality

I see the Dayton classic 8-inch (Parts Express part number 295-310) used in several MTMs on the web, but not much mention of their sound quality. If you can filter them to below 2500 Hz, do they make decent sound?

They also seem to be used only in ported cabinets; are they suitable for a sealed box?
