My sister is thinking about building a speaker set for a friend. He lives alone and his only music source is a set of computer speakers and really he deserves better.
He listens primarily to electronic, pop synth, and some rock. Bands like Erasure, Postal Service, Ratatat, M83. We'd like to keep it around $150-$200 in parts. The two projects that came to mind when I thought about this was the D3's but I also noticed the Dayton 8" MTM project on speakerbuilder.net. Any other suggestions? Which one of these kits would be better? She's leaning towards making floorstanders but the D3s get such great reviews. Thanks. The dayton8s really go low, so if he likes his bass, he can get away with using them with no subwoofer....
I built a pair and I love them.... |
