Default mid-range only OB?

So, what do you all think; any point in going OB 5" mids when the woofer and tweeter are IB?

If it is given that the woofer and tweeter are IB's then OK........IF the 5" covers from ~ 100Hz to !0kHz ....... This would put the woofer and tweeter in the realm of 'helper drivers' (retaining the coherency of the "FR" driver)............

Nope, the crossover freqs would be 100 and 2-3K.
