I am wanting to build the smallest monitor possible using some JM Labs drivers. I have seen the following :
http://www.lautsprechershop.de/hifi/...hifi/cc200.htm The plans etc are available on the Hobby HiFi mag dated 02/2000 - Does anyone have a copy of this ?? Anyone else tried doing somthing like this using JM Labs and can comment on drivers and crossovers etc....? Thanks Mark.Carline@btinternet.com |

Looks very simmilar to one I saw at my local home theater store for $1,000/pair
TC90 tweeters with 5" woofer, and higher order crossover 3rd or 4th order I think. VERY impressive sound from such a little box. I ended up getting some of the tweeters to use with rebuilding my mains and have yet to be dissapointed by them. |

Seems like you can actually order it from here:
http://www.hobbyhifi.de/Bestellservi...estellung.html Your issue doesn't seem to be out of print, and you could get it delivered to the UK for 9.50 Euro. Well... So does my babelfish say That's probably your best bet. If you understand german that is... BTW, they look very nice and probably sound very good too. You can hardly go wrong with focal drivers. |

Hi Mark,
If you check http://www.lautsprechershop.de/hifi.../hifi/cc200.htm next to the price there is a mention: "nicht lieferbar" which, as far as i know, means " not available". I Have this copy of hobby Hifi somewhere around here, and if i remember well the bass driver is not available anymore. The filter was quite a complex thing too. Since then HH has come up with a small floorstander using the latest 16 Cm drivers with the W cone which might even be better than this project. Have to go out now, but i will investigate later on , either this evening or tomorrow. Ciao, T |

I checked and both units used in the kit are out of production- ( tc 90 tdx and 5V4411) so says HH 6/2003, presenting a new version of this mini monitor using expolinear drivers: http://www.hobbyhifi.de/Archiv/03/06_03/06_03.html
you might still be able to locate the focal drivers in some shops though. |
