This is going to be another of those tedious step by step series of updates, with 550K photos to add to the annoyance.

I don't get this idea. Why doesn't it come like this from vifa? I'm assuming the answer is that there's some sort of drawback; is it powerhandling?

If these mods do actually give you a better sound then why are the bigger pictures such a bother. Lots of ppl have BB nowadays, and if a large pic is the only way to highlight what to do then whats the problem.

I for one dont really think the pics that large in this post are required, the first two at the links dont really give me any useful information it doesnt let me see what im meant to do.

Anyway it will be interesting to see what you thing of the sound. The lowering of the fs in this design is most likely not going to bring about much of a change because the tweeter doesnt like low xover freqs anyway. The standard 500hz being well sufficient for lower xovers then the tweeter likes to handle.

The gap there is on the voicecoil form cause it to move to much. because the suspencion/membrane is softer at the gap in the voice coil form.

therefore D-S-T made the "glue fix" to hold it back. so it cant move that much. insted of fix the real problem an make a better voice coil form.

once again sorry for my english !
